Jasper's Portrait

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Computer Sciences at UW Madison, working with Prof. Ilias Diakonikolas. My research interests are broadly in the foundations of data science and machine learning, designing algorithms that are both practical and provably data-efficient and computationally-efficient for statistical applications. My work is partially supported by the generous funding of a Croucher Fellowship for Postdoctoral Research. For Fall 2021, I was a visitor at the Simons Institute to participate in the Computational Complexity of Statistical Inference programme.

My PhD was from Brown University, advised by Prof. Paul Valiant. Prior to Brown, I read the Computer Science Tripos (Master of Arts) and pursued an MPhil in Advanced Computer Science at Churchill College, University of Cambridge, supervised by Dr Thomas Sauerwald.

I am on the job market for a position starting Fall 2024!
